The LCA Framework
Abbeville CAN operates through three connected elements: Leadership, Connection, and Action. Each plays a distinct role for where conversations take place. Together, they create a system for coordinated community impact.
This framework is designed to help communities move from conversation to action in a way that is aligned, inclusive, and adaptable over time.
Defining Each Element
Leadership provides direction, alignment, and accountability across the system.
Leadership teams:
Clarify priorities and desired outcomes
Commission teams to advance work
Support coordination across organizations
Ensure learning and progress are shared
Leadership helps ensure oranization and community efforts are aligned and moving in the same direction.
Connection creates space for relationships, awareness, and shared understanding.
Tables:
Bring people together across sectors
Share information about needs, services, and opportunities
Surface priorities and emerging challenges
Build trust and collaboration
Connection helps us understand what is happening and where we can work together.
Action is where work moves forward.
Teams:
Form around shared purpose
Take responsibility for advancing priorities
Explore solutions, test ideas, and implement strategies
Learn and adapt over time
Action helps translate shared priorities into real progress.
It should be noted that individual organizations are encouraged to retain their current form of leadership. That leadership should attend the community long table to discuss what is happening across organizations in the community for opportunities to collaborate. Every Abbeville CAN organization is encouraged, but not required to have a table connection point that allows natural conversation and sharing to prioritize relationships and surface pain points as well as synergies. Action teams are charted by individual organizations but the entire network is encouraged to participate and bring progress back to tables and organizations.
Elements Working In Tandem
The system is designed to be continuous and adaptive:
Tables surface priorities and opportunities
Teams take responsibility for moving work forward
Learning is shared back across the system
Leadership helps guide direction and alignment
This creates a cycle of connection, action, and learning.
